HOW TO FEED YOUR DAIRY COW AND ATTAIN MAXIMUM LEVELS OF MILK PRODUCTION

The animal needs food to be alive, to grow, to reproduce, and to produce milk. A cow should be fed dry matter at a rate of 3% its body weight. The dry matter is the part of feeds that would remain if you removed all the water from the feeds. E.g a cow that weighs 500 would need 15 kgs dry matter.
Always provide your livestock with abundant supplies of cool, clean and pure water which will help in the optimisation of feeds and nutrients use in their body.
Ensure the animal gets minerals that they require on a daily basis.
