ගර්භණී සමයේදී “දෙදෙනෙකුට කන්න” කියන්නේ කෑම ප්‍රමාණය වැඩි කිරීම නොවෙයි.
ඒ වෙනුවට අවශ්‍ය වන්නේ ගුණාත්මක, සමබල සහ පෝෂණය පිරුණු ආහාර වේලක් ලබා ගැනීමයි.

විශේෂයෙන් 2nd සහ 3rd trimesters වලදී මවකට දිනකට අමතර කැලරි 300 සිට 450ක් පමණ අවශ්‍ය විය හැක.
