A farmer knows that harvest is not inherited—it is earned through what is planted and nurtured daily.

The same is true for our nation.

A better tomorrow will not come by chance; it will grow from the seeds of responsibility, unity, hard work, and active citizenship that we sow today.

The future of our country is not inherited; it is cultivated. 🌱🇳🇬

Happy Democracy Day from The Green Feez.

“You don’t need a million naira to start poultry farming…"

One mistake many young people make is waiting to “have enough money” before starting agriculture.
But small-scale poultry farming can actually be a smart beginning.

Here’s why:

1. You can start small
You don’t need a massive farm immediately.
Some people begin with:
20 birds
50 birds

Even local chickens at home
The important thing is learning the process first.

2. Poultry has fast turnover
Compared to many businesses, poultry can start generating returns within months if managed properly.

3. Management is everything
Poultry farming is not “easy money.”

You must pay attention to:
-Feeding
-Clean water
-Vaccination
-Proper housing
-Hygiene
One small mistake can affect many birds.

4. Consistency grows the business
A small poultry farm today can become something bigger tomorrow.

If you wanted to start poultry farming today…
Would you choose broilers, layers, or local chickens?

“Some farmers wake up by 5AM every day, work under the hot sun… yet remain broke. Why?”

This may sound harsh, but hard work alone is no longer enough in agriculture.
Many farmers are working hard…
but not strategically.
Here are some reasons why some farmers still struggle.

1. Farming without knowledge
Some people farm the same way they did 20 years ago without learning new methods.

2. No market plan
Some farmers plant crops first…
then start looking for buyers later.
That’s risky.

3. Poor financial management
A successful harvest does not always mean profit.

4. Fear of innovation
Some farmers avoid:
Technology
Better seeds
Irrigation
Modern techniques

5. Farming without vision
If farming is seen only as “survival,” growth becomes difficult.

What do you think is the biggest problem farmers face today in Nigeria?

Many young people are waiting for the “perfect time” to start something meaningful, but the truth is… agriculture is already creating opportunities every single day.

Food demand keeps rising, land keeps getting more expensive, and the world will never stop needing food. This is why agriculture is no longer just about planting crops in the village. Today, agriculture involves business, technology, branding, content creation, exportation, innovation, and wealth creation.

The beautiful thing is that you do not need to start big before starting smart. Some people started with a small poultry setup, a backyard vegetable garden, fish farming, or even agricultural content online and today they are building something sustainable for themselves.

While many industries are crowded and uncertain, agriculture still has massive untapped opportunities for young people who are willing to learn, stay consistent, and think long-term.

Waiting too long can be risky because the future belongs to those who position themselves early.

The best time to invest in agriculture was yesterday…
The second best time is NOW. 💚
