I agree with you that farming is not easy, but it is rewarding for those who stay consistent. Every well managed season moves you closer to stability, growth, and respect as a producer. Just give it a try and you will thank me later.

The difference between a poor farmer and a rich farmer is a plan.

👉Many farmers wake up every morning and work very hard.

They dig.
They feed animals.
They spray crops.
They struggle.

But at the end of the season no or little profit.

👉It's not because they are lazy, but because they are farming without a clear plan.

👉A poor farmer plants because rains have started.

👉A rich farmer plants because the market has been studied.

👉A poor farmer buys today and hopes things work out.

👉A rich farmer already calculated costs, profits, and buyers before bringing it home.

🌱Farming is not gambling. It is planning.

Before you plant:
👉Know your market
👉Know your costs
👉Know your expected profit
👉Know your risks
👉Know your next move

So this week, sit down with your notebook, not a hoe.

Because successful farming starts in the mind before it reaches the soil.

You know what to do if you want to be seeing our post. Thanks

🦗Pest issues don’t start overnight, they build from small mistakes we made as a farmer and we don't notice it early enough.

👉Spraying at the wrong time, ignoring humidity, or overusing pesticides can actually make infestations worse and cost more in the long run.

👉Using the right strategy at the right time.

🌽Protect your crops.
🌽Protect your yield.

If you want practical farm tips that can actually help you in your farming journey. Stay with me as I put you through from planting to harvest.

As a farmer, early pest control saves crops before they grow out of control.

🦗When pests are still few, it is easier and cheaper to manage, preventing serious damage to the young plants.
👉If left untreated, they multiply quickly, weakening plant growth, reducing photosynthesis, and lowering both yield and quality. When you act early, you can protect the crops with less effort, lower costs, and minimal chemical use, ensuring healthier plants and a more productive harvest.

👉Many Farmers Don't Know They Can Turn Local Materials Into Farming Opportunies

🌱Some farmers think they need expensive equipment to succeed in farming.

👉Not knowing that,, some of the best farming resources are already around them.

👉Some local materials that people throw away can become powerful tools for food production.

👉An example is sack bag, tyres. Farmers can use sack bags or tyres in farming:

👉Sack or tyres can be filled with soil and manure to grow crops such as sweet potatoes, spinach, onions, or tomatoes.
You can try it and thank me later.

Someone asked "How Does Intercropping Help With Drought"?

Below are my answers on how Intercropping helps with drought:

1. Soil shading: Crops like corn or sunflowers provide shade, reducing soil temperature and minimizing water loss through evaporation.
2. Soil retention: Deep-rooted plants like beans or peas help hold the soil in place, preventing erosion and retaining moisture.
3. Moisture retention: Plants like plantains or other cover crops help retain soil moisture, reducing runoff and allowing more water to be absorbed.
4. Nitrogen fixation: Legumes like beans fix nitrogen, promoting healthy plant growth and increasing drought tolerance.
5. Diverse root systems: Different crops have varying root depths, allowing them to access water from different soil layers, maximizing water usage.
6. Microclimate creation: Intercropping creates a microclimate, reducing wind speed and temperature fluctuations, which helps conserve water.

Combining these, intercropping enhances the overall resilience of the farm ecosystem, allowing it to better withstand drought conditions.

Maize and Soybean Intercropping?

👉This is a climate smart farming system that maximizes land productivity, improves soil fertility, and reduces farming risks.

🌽While maize provides structure and efficient use of sunlight, 🫛soybean enriches the soil naturally through nitrogen fixation, reducing dependence on synthetic fertilizers. This sustainable partnership not only boosts yields and farm income but also enhances resilience against climate variability, pests, and soil degradation, proving that smart crop combinations can build stronger and more productive agricultural systems. Just give it a try this farming season.
