Message for the First Night of Celebrating 50 Years
All praise and gratitude belong to You, O Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the place where the sun rises and where it sets, Lord of Musa, Isa, and Ibrahim the Close Friend, Lord of Jibril, Mikail, and Israfil, the One who sent down the Scriptures, the One who moves the clouds, the One who sends down the rain, the One who brings forth plants for His servants, the One who sent the final Prophet, Prophet Muhammad, the Arab of Quraysh, descendant of Adnan, born in Makkah, who migrated to Madinah. May peace, mercy, blessings, and honor be upon him, his noble Companions, his pure family, and all those who followed them in righteousness.
I thank You for life, faith, health, provision, dignity, freedom, happiness, honor, understanding, knowledge, parents, brothers and sisters, relatives, family members, neighbors, friends, teachers, students, companions in life, men and women, children and elders, those near and those far.
You have allowed me to reach 50 years in faith, health, provision, and freedom. I ask You for increase in every blessing You have given me, for continued protection, care, honor, firmness upon faith, and goodness in the days ahead.
I ask for Your forgiveness, pardon, gentleness, mercy, and relief regarding the mistakes, sins, shortcomings, ingratitude, negligence, weakness, and the rights I have fallen short in—whether Your rights or the rights of Your servants. Grant me strength to continue the work that You love and are pleased with, and keep me away from all that You have forbidden, openly or secretly.
I ask You to have mercy on our forefathers, reward our parents with goodness, bless our teachers, bless our students, bless our families, and bring us ease, positive change, progress, peace, and abundant provision in our countries and in all Muslim lands.
O Allah, forgive us as You forgave Prophet Adam and Hawwa. Destroy our enemies and Your enemies as You destroyed the people of Prophet Nuh. Protect us from their evil as You saved Prophet Ibrahim from the fire. Cure us from illnesses as You cured Prophet Ayyub. Rescue our Ummah from the evil of enemies as You rescued the Children of Israel from Fir‘awn under the leadership of Prophet Musa.
Restore to us the strength and honor of Islam in the Muslim lands as You established the State of Madinah in the time of our leader Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Grant us understanding of Your Book and the Sunnah of Your Prophet as You granted understanding to the righteous generations before us. Reform our character, purify our hearts, set right our worldly affairs and our religion, guide our leaders, unite the Muslim scholars upon the path of reform, goodness, and justice, and make us among those who sincerely bring positive change, who hold firmly to the Sunnah of Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
