I am super proud of what I do.
And what do I do?
I am an avid farmer!
Yes, I still cater for events. But that’s on the side for now.
I might not even take more than 3 small gigs in a year.
Farming is what I do. Farming is what I’m passionate about.
I really want to share a lot here so people can learn.
But the truth is, that’s a luxury I can’t afford right now.
A real farmer like me can’t afford that luxury yet.
From walking plot to plot, to studying weather conditions, to deciding what to plant for maximal yield...
To getting permanent and contract staff to do a good job.
To clearing bushes, packing, tilling, and heaping.
To sowing seeds and going back to check if they were sown properly — if not, resupply.
To weeding.
To applying the right chemicals, or else you lose all the work you’ve done.
To watching out for pest and disease outbreaks and how to control them.
And this is just the beginning.
All of this makes farming tedious.
But if you follow the processes with patience and understanding, it becomes interesting... and very rewarding.
