As parents, we’re constantly trying to solve the same breakfast puzzle:
How do I make something nutritious enough for my child and delicious enough for them to actually eat? 😅

Because let's be honest—children eat with their eyes first.

That’s why I love having a versatile breakfast mix at home.

💥With Sparklebake High Protein Pancake Mix, you can turn one mix into fluffy pancakes today, crispy waffles tomorrow, soft muffins for the lunchbox, or delicious banana bread for the weekend.

So you’re not stuck serving the same breakfast over and over, and you can still build meals around good nutrition, variety and foods your family enjoys.

Sometimes feeding our children better isn't about making meals more complicated.

It's about having better, more versatile options within easy reach.

What would you make first—pancakes, waffles, muffins or banana bread?

If you’ve ever spent 20 minutes begging a child to take “just one bite” of vegetables, you are not alone. 😅

Sometimes the problem isn't the vegetable itself. Texture, bitterness, appearance, and unfamiliarity can all make a child hesitate. And forcing them usually makes the battle worse. Children often need repeated, low-pressure exposure before a new food becomes familiar.

So instead of asking, “How do I make my child eat vegetables?” try asking:

“How can I make vegetables more enjoyable?”

Here are 3 methods worth trying:

📌 Roast them — make them naturally sweeter

Try carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, bell peppers, broccoli

Cut them into child-friendly pieces, toss lightly with oil and seasoning, and roast until tender with slightly browned edges.

Roasting brings out sweetness and creates those delicious browned, crispy edges. A vegetable that tastes bitter or bland when boiled can become completely different when roasted.

Parent tip: Serve roasted vegetables alongside something your child already loves—a chicken piece, rice, eggs . Pairing a new food with a familiar one can make it less intimidating.

📌 Steam them — then give them some personality

Steaming works especially well for broccoli, carrots, green beans, spinach, green leafy vegetables and cabbage

The trick is don't cook them into softness. Aim for tender but still colourful and slightly firm.

Then add flavour: a little butter or oil, mild seasoning, grated cheese.

📌 Turn them into foods they already enjoy

This is where you can get creative.

Grate carrots into muffins or quick breads. Add finely chopped vegetables to pasta sauce, omelettes, meatballs or homemade pancakes and waffles.

But don't make the goal to hide vegetables from your child. Let them see and participate in the process too. Children are often more willing to explore foods they helped choose or prepare.

And one more thing parents need to hear:

A child refusing a vegetable today doesn't mean they will hate it forever.

Keep offering it without turning mealtime into a negotiation. One child may need several exposures before accepting a food; some may need many more.

Which vegetable does your child currently refuse to eat?

What's your go-to dinner dish when you're tired?

11/08/2026

“Mummy, I don’t want pancakes again!” 😩😂

If you have children, you already know this one.

One day they want pancakes.
The next day, they want banana bread.
Then suddenly, pancakes are “boring” and they are asking for something completely different.

And honestly? Variety is part of the fun of feeding children. 🙂

The good news is that variety doesn't have to mean starting from scratch every morning.

With our High Protein Pancake Mix, one mix can give you several breakfast options while still bringing protein and fibre to the table.

Today, we turned it into soft, delicious Banana Bread .

Serve it with eggs, a little jam, butter or sausages, and you've got a breakfast the whole family can enjoy.
