DRIVEN TO END MALARIA: NOW WE CAN. NOW WE MUST.

Malaria is still claiming lives but not because we lack solutions.
We have the tools. We have the knowledge. What we need now is action.

Every mosquito bite prevented is life protected.
Every early test is a life saved.
Every treated case is a step closer to ending malaria.

✔ Sleep under insecticide-treated nets

✔ Keep your environment clean and mosquito-free

✔ Get tested immediately when symptoms appear

✔ Complete your treatment, don’t stop halfway

This is not just a health message. It’s a responsibility.
The fight against malaria starts with you, your home, and your community.
Because ending malaria is no longer a dream, it’s a decision.

Now we can. Now we must.

Let’s be real, plain water gets boring fast. But here’s the catch: skipping hydration isn’t harmless. It’s like quietly pulling bricks out of the foundation of your body.

👉 So what exactly is dehydration?

In simple terms, it’s when your body doesn’t have enough water to work the way it should. Think of it like running a car with low engine oil, it still moves for a while, but inside, things start grinding and overheating. That’s dehydration. It’s not just “being thirsty.” By the time you feel thirsty, your body is already sending an SOS.

Mild dehydration may start small with headaches, fatigue, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, dark p*e, or muscle cramps. But left unchecked, it can spiral into major health drama:

• Kidney trouble (UTIs, stones, even failure)

• Electrolyte chaos leading to seizures

• Thickened blood and heart strain

• Brain fog, confusion, and disorientation

• Heat exhaustion or even heatstroke

• Shock, coma, or sudden falls in older adults

And here’s something most people don’t know,
dehydration can even worsen skin conditions like keratosis, making those rough bumps on your arms or thighs harder to manage.

Why does water matter this much?

Because it’s the quiet worker behind everything:

• Keeps blood flowing to deliver oxygen and nutrients

• Powers your brain, kidneys, and every vital organ

• Lubricates your joints and keeps digestion smooth

• Keeps your cells firing properly with electrolyte balance

The good news?

Staying hydrated doesn’t have to be boring.
Infuse your water with fruits, sip on coconut water, enjoy herbal teas, or munch on water-rich foods like cucumbers and melons.

Hydration doesn’t have to taste plain and your body will thank you in ways you can feel (and see).

When people think “anti-inflammatory foods,” spinach, kale, or turmeric usually get all the hype.

But guess what? Some everyday veggies you see in the market can do wonders too. They just don’t get enough spotlight.

Inflammation is sneaky, it fuels fatigue, joint pain, even chronic diseases.

But here’s the surprise: some of the best natural defenses aren’t exotic foods or supplements.

They’re humble vegetables you already know but may have underestimated.

Let’s give them their flowers today 🌸👇🏽

 1. Okro (Lady’s Finger)

That slimy texture people joke about? It’s actually packed with compounds that calm inflammation and protect your gut.

Okra is also rich in antioxidants that help your body fight stress at the cellular level.

2. Ugwu (Fluted Pumpkin Leaf)

If you grew up with Nigerian soups, you know Ugwu.

Beyond taste, it’s loaded with beta-carotene, vitamin C, and antioxidants that reduce oxidative stress (a major cause of chronic inflammation).

3. Sweet Potato Leaves

Everyone loves the tuber, but the leaves? 🔥 They’re an underrated powerhouse.

These green leaves contain polyphenols and vitamin E, which soothe inflammation and support healthy blood vessels.

Takeaway:

Sometimes, the most powerful healers are already sitting in your kitchen.

So the next time you’re shopping, don’t just pass by okro, ugwu, or sweet potato leaves, your body will thank you.

Ibuprofen, you probably know it as Emprofen, Ibuten, or Brustan .

It’s that “everyday hero” you reach for when pain comes knocking.

It works by blocking prostaglandins, the little troublemakers that cause inflammation and swelling.

But here’s the twist...

Even on its own, ibuprofen can leave side effects: nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea. (That’s why doctors often say “take it with food.”)

Add alcohol, and things quickly shift from mild to mayday

Here’s why

Alcohol already irritates your stomach and intestines. Pair it with ibuprofen, and the irritation doubles.

Even a small glass after taking ibuprofen is risky. The more you drink, the higher the stakes.

The possible fallout?

Gastrointestinal bleeding (think thick, black stools that resemble tar or blood in vomit).

Kidney damage (swelling hands/feet, shortness of breath, drowsiness).

Impaired alertness (confusion, slurred sp*ech, delayed reaction times = higher accident risk).

And worst of all: your pain reliever may not even work properly.

So while you can technically mix small amounts… ask yourself: is it worth the risk?

Be kind to your gut and liver. If you’re on ibuprofen, skip the drink. Your body will thank you.
