My Muslim brothers never seized to amaze me.
You always try hard to ensure that you lie against the Bible.
Let me unpack this misunderstanding.
Did Jesus say “I am not good”?
No! He never said that.
In Luke 18 and Mark 10, the rich ruler called Jesus “Good Teacher.”
Jesus replied: “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.”
Notice something here, Jesus did not say, “I am not good.”
He was challenging the man’s understanding of who He was.
In Jewish belief, “good” in the absolute sense belongs only to God.
So Jesus’ question means:
“If only God is good and you are calling Me good, do you realize what you’re calling Me?”
Jesus wasn’t denying goodness, He was inviting the man to recognize His identity.
And Jesus openly claimed divine goodness elsewhere:
He said “I am the Good Shepherd” (John 10:11).
He lived sinless (Hebrews 4:15).
He forgives sins (Mark 2:5–7).
He receives worship (Matthew 14:33).
So Jesus is not denying He is good — He is revealing that He is God.
