The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has in statement disclosed why some beneficiaries of the Batch C Npower Programme are yet to receive their monthly Stipends.

In an update through the Npower Verified Social handle on Thursady, the Npower Management Team clarified that some beneficiaries did not "validate" the Bank Account details they provided in their NASIMS profile, "which has made it impossible to credit their Bank Accounts".

Recall that the Npower Management Team on Monday commenced the payment of October Stipends to the eligible Batch C Npower beneficiaries, but have encountered technical glitches which the technical team has intensified efforts to resolve in order to ensure all the Beneficiaries are paid without further delay.

The Ministry has called on the Batch C Npower beneficiaries whose Bank Details are yet to be validated to ensure they do so using a laid down proceedure to enable them recieve their October Stipend.

How to know if your Bank Details have been Validated

Before downloading Post Letters, Beneficiaries were requested to Validate their Bank Account Information.

If you entered your Bank Account details correctly before downloading your Posting Letter, just be calming down.

'Invalid' or 'No BVN data' displayed on the BVN section of the NASIMS Profile does not show BVN was not validated. It will also not stop your payment.

Why the Bank Detail Validation is Necessary

The Validation of Bank Details is necessary to ensure that the Account Number where the Stipend is being paid, belongs to the Npower beneficiary whose Name and BVN are stated in the Beneficiary's Profile.

In the real essence, a beneficiary's Name on the NASIMS Profile Must be the same Name and the same Format as written on the BVN and Bank Information.

This shows vividly that the NASIMS Profile and Account Details belong to a bonafide Npower Beneficiary.

ENERGY TRANSITION PLAN: WHY DEVELOPED COUNTRIES SHOULD CHANGE DIRECTION TO FAVOUR AFRICA @ COP26 - OSINBAJO

_Gas should be a transition fuel, says Tony Blair_

_VP explains Nigeria's plan_

_Joins Tanzanian President, Former UK Prime Minister, UN ECA official to discuss Africa and Climate Change_

A few days to the commencement of the COP26 holding in the United Kingdom, Nigeria's expectation is that more developed countries will change the direction of the conversation around energy transition in favour of Africa at the global summit, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

He stated this yesterday at a virtual panel discussion on “A Just Transition: Balancing Climate Mitigation with Africa’s Development”, organized by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.

With him on the panel were the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, the former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Dr Vera Songwe.

The COP26 summit, scheduled to hold in Glasgow, Scotland, from October 31 – November 12, will bring the global community together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Talking about the expectations, Prof. Osinbajo noted that conversations at the forthcoming Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, must be tilted in favour of Africa, as “the conference will be an opportunity to engage and change the direction of the current conversation especially as it affects Africa.”

According to him, “it is an opportunity to talk, to engage, and I think that we really need to engage. I think we need to just change the direction of the conversation especially as it affects Africa and then talk in concrete terms about what the implications of net-zero emissions by 2050 or whenever, will mean for Africa and the world.”

The Vice President also explained that Nigeria already has a p

While the Month of October nears the end, hope has heightened among the beneficiaries of the Batch C Stream 1 Npower Programme which however intensified questions such as what is the Npower Batch C Stream 1 payment date.

Some online publication said the payment of the Stipend would commence on 25th October, 2021 while some argued that the beneficiaries should expect double Stipend.

Starting with the later, recall that the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development declared 4th October, 2021 as the official date for resumption of "work" by the beneficiaries of the Stream 1 Npower Programme.

This entails that the Ministry will never pay for a month the beneficiaries did not work for as Npower is work, earn and learn programme. The opposite may have happened in the past but do not expect it in this current leadership.

On the former, 25th of any Month is not a good expectant date for Npower payment. This is because Npower beneficiaries are not permanent Federal workers and the Npower Programme is not institutionalized under the Civil Service Comminsion.

As a programme under a Ministry, the Ministry will have to clear beneficiaries who are due for payment towards the end of the month. This is similar to NYSC except that there is no monthly vouching.

Clearance for payment systematically involves reports from the accredited Npower Monitoring Team which has started visiting PPAs already, and reports from the State Focal Persons which are formation of various reports from Places of Primary Assignment where beneficiaries are posted in any State.

October payment being the first Stipend to be recieved by the Batch C Stream 1 Npower beneficiaries, would take a little time because when the Ministry clears for payment, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation will have to feed the data into the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System server.

When all are set in the server, subsequent payment c

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN has commended an integrated waste management project of Kano State government which will transform waste to power, organic fertilizer, and other uses.

Prof. Osinbajo made the commendation of the Public-Private Partnership during a visit on Monday to the Presidential Villa by a delegation led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and officials of Capegate, a private environmental services provider.

According to the VP, “I must commend the Kano State government for the sheer breadth of the project, and Capegate limited for its audacity because of the size of the project. It is not just a sanitation project, it is obviously one that is looking at an end-to-end waste management solution but also has strong components for contributions to our NDCs, and our whole de-carbonization ambitions for climate change.”

The Kano State Governor mentioned that the State has signed a 20-year concession agreement with the company for waste collection, waste transportation, sorting, and processing to produce electricity and organic fertilizer, among others.

“The whole package is very important for us as a government which is why I thought, the idea of bringing everyone together to have this preliminary discussion is important so that you can learn as you go forward,” Prof. Osinbajo observed.

He added that it is “important for it to be seen as something that we all need to work on. I think that it is the sort of project that could be a template for other projects across the country if it is done well.”

Expressing FG’s willingness to support the project, the VP noted that “…the approach that is taken here really has great prospects and we certainly must see how we can make this happen.”

Governor Ganduje had noted that the state government was encouraged to
