Engages in High Level Bilateral Meetings
At the 5th Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum, His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, advanced Yobe State’s leadership in regional stability by engaging in high-level bilateral discussions with key government officials, international partners, and development stakeholders.
These strategic engagements focused on deepening cross-border cooperation, enhancing security, mobilizing resources, and driving sustainable solutions for displaced communities across the region.
Key High-Level Engagements:
✅ Bilateral Meeting with Diffa Governor & UNDP Niger Republic
Governor Buni met with Brig. Gen. Mohamadou Ibrahim Bagadoma, Governor of Diffa, and UNDP Niger Republic representatives to strengthen cross-border security and explore joint initiatives for regional development and stability.
✅ Engagement with the UK Government Delegation and British High Commission in Nigeria
In a meeting led by UK FCDO Development Director Cynthia Rowe, discussions centered on deepening UK-Yobe partnerships in stabilization, humanitarian response, and long-term development support for the Lake Chad Basin.
✅ Strategic Dialogue with International INGOs Forum
Governor Buni engaged with leadership of Nigeria INGOs, including NRC, IRC, Malteser International, ACF, iMMAP, and PLAN International along with NYCSO to enhance humanitarian collaboration and drive sustainable solutions for displaced populations.
✅ High-Level Consultation with UNDP West & Central Africa
With Njoya Tikum, Director of UNDP Sub-Regional Hub for West & Central Africa, discussions focused on strengthening recovery, resilience, resource mobilization, and expanding development efforts across the Lake Chad Basin.
