Day 30 at A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited 🐔📈

At this stage, optimizing management is key to achieving maximum weight gain before market. Our focus is on ensuring the birds convert feed efficiently while maintaining excellent health and comfort.

We are prioritizing consistent access to high-quality finisher feed, clean and cool water, and proper lighting to encourage steady feed intake. Environmental control remains critical, especially managing heat stress, to keep the birds comfortable and active.

Good litter management, proper ventilation, and strategic use of supplements are also in place to support digestion and overall performance.

With the right balance of nutrition, environment, and health management, this phase plays a crucial role in pushing the birds toward their target market weight.

📍Day 28 At A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited

Importance of Vitamin B Complex in Broiler Production

Vitamin B complex plays a vital role in the growth, health, and overall performance of broiler chickens. These vitamins are essential for proper metabolism and help birds convert feed into energy efficiently.

🔍 Key Benefits of Vitamin B Complex:

* Improves Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR): Helps birds utilize feed better, leading to faster weight gain.
* Boosts Appetite: Encourages birds to eat more, especially after stress or illness.
* Enhances Energy Production: Supports metabolism, giving birds the energy needed for growth.
* Supports Nervous System: Prevents issues like weakness, paralysis, and poor coordination.
* Promotes Healthy Growth: Essential for muscle development and overall body function.
* Aids Recovery from Stress: Very important after disease, vaccination, or environmental stress (heat or cold).

At A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited, we understand that proper supplementation, especially with Vitamin B complex, is key to maintaining healthy birds, improving performance, and achieving target market weights.

📍 Day 27 at A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited

The Effects of Poor Management in Broiler Farming

Effective management is the backbone of successful broiler production. Poor management practices can lead to serious setbacks that affect bird health, growth performance, and overall farm profitability.

🔍 Key Effects of Poor Management:

* Poor Growth Performance: Inadequate feeding, poor nutrition, and inconsistent care lead to slow growth and failure to reach target market weight.
* High Mortality Rate: Poor hygiene, delayed treatment, and lack of proper monitoring increase bird losses.
* Disease Outbreaks: Wet litter, overcrowding, and poor ventilation create a breeding ground for diseases like coccidiosis and respiratory infections.
* Poor Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR): Inefficient management results in birds consuming more feed without corresponding weight gain.
* Uneven Bird Sizes: Lack of proper spacing and feeding management leads to non-uniform growth within the flock.
* Increased Production Cost: More money is spent on medication, feed, and labor due to avoidable issues.
* Reduced Profitability: All these factors ultimately reduce the farmer’s profit margin.

At A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited, we understand that proper management from feeding and hygiene to environmental control is essential for achieving optimal performance, minimizing losses, and ensuring sustainable agribusiness growth.

📍 Day 26 at A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited

Understanding Cold Stress in Broilers

Cold stress occurs when broiler chickens are exposed to temperatures below their comfort zone, causing them to use more energy to maintain body heat rather than for growth and production.

🔍 Signs of Cold Stress in Broilers:

* Birds huddling or cuddling together
* Reduced feed and water intake
* Slow growth rate
* Increased feed consumption without corresponding weight gain
* Weakness and inactivity
* Increased susceptibility to diseases

⚠️ Effects of Cold Stress:

* Poor feed conversion efficiency
* Reduced weight gain and delayed market readiness
* Higher risk of respiratory infections
* Increased mortality in severe cases
* Reduced overall flock performance and profitability

✅ Prevention and Management:

* Maintain proper brooding and house temperatures
* Prevent cold drafts and strong winds from entering the poultry house
* Keep litter dry and comfortable
* Ensure adequate ventilation without exposing birds to cold air
* Provide constant access to quality feed and clean water

At A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited, we understand that maintaining the right environment is essential for bird welfare, optimal growth, and achieving target market weights. Proper temperature management remains a key pillar of successful poultry production.

📍 Day 25 at A.Gideon Integrated Farm Nigeria Limited

The Effect of Proper Spacing in Broiler Production

Spacing is a critical factor in broiler management that directly affects bird health, growth performance, and overall farm profitability. As birds grow, their space requirements increase, and failure to adjust stocking density can lead to several challenges.

🔍 Key Effects of Proper Spacing:

* Improved Growth Performance: Birds with enough space have better access to feed and water, leading to uniform growth and optimal weight gain.
* Better Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR): Reduced competition allows birds to convert feed more efficiently.
* Reduced Stress and Mortality: Overcrowding leads to heat stress, suffocation, and increased deaths. Proper spacing keeps birds calm and active.
* Lower Disease Risk: High density increases the spread of diseases like coccidiosis and respiratory infections.
* Better Litter Quality: Overcrowding leads to wet litter, which encourages disease and poor hygiene.
* Uniform Flock Development: Adequate space ensures birds grow evenly, reducing size variation at market age.

At A.Gideon Integrated Farm, maintaining proper stocking density is part of our commitment to efficient production, bird welfare, and achieving target weights consistently.
