Raising piglets successfully is all about warmth, feeding, hygiene, health care, and stress-free growth. Healthy piglets grow faster, resist diseases better, and become stronger growers or breeders.

1. Prepare a Good Pen
Piglets need a clean, dry, and warm environment.
Important things to provide:
Proper roofing against rain and sun
Good ventilation
Dry floor (avoid muddy pens)
Drainage system for urine and wastewater
Separate creep area for piglets away from bigger pigs
Clean drinking water always available

2. Health Management
Common piglet problems
Diarrhea (scours)
Worms
Iron deficiency
Pneumonia
Crushing by the sow
Important practices
Iron injection at 3–5 days old
Tail docking (if practiced in your system)
Teeth clipping carefully
Vaccination based on your vet’s advice
Deworming schedule
If a piglet refuses to eat, isolates itself, or has diarrhea, act quickly.

3. Weaning
Piglets are usually weaned at:
6–8 weeks
During weaning:
Reduce stress
Keep same feed for a few days
Avoid overcrowding
Separate weak piglets if necessary

A borehole isn’t a luxury on a pig farmβ€”it’s what keeps the entire operation running daily. Without reliable water, everything else (feeding, hygiene, growth) starts to break down.
No water, no pigs
