Among the councilors of lere local government our councilor, the councilor of garu ward Hon Ayuba Mato Mariri is exceptional in terms of service to humanity and giving out dividends of democracy.
Among his achievements on education only.

1. He is the first and only councilor to fullysponsor over twenty orphans right from primary.

2. He is the first and only councilor in the whole history of lere local government to paid for over 30 students their SSCE examination fees

3. Your yours for ever is also the first and only councilor to paid jamb registration fees for over 40 students.

4. Also our super councilor who has passion in education is about to give out disbursement to students from different institution of learning.

He is doing everything one after another from lower to offer.

Not only education he is doing well in almost everything that needs intervention.

The above named foundation under the leadership of our able and super councilor HON AYUBA MATO MARIRI Garu ward councilor are inviting tertiary Students from any institution of learning within and outside the country to a scholarship screening.

Time:10-12 am daily.
Venue: Alhuffaz Academy Mariri.

Eligibility:

2. Newly admitted and graduate are excluded.

A traditional 19th century precolonial Quranic manuscript from Bornu, northeastern Nigeria or western Chad, written in the Barnawi, or Barnavi script, a type of Arabic script specific to Bornu.

“This Qur’an comprises a compilation of loose folios that are held together within an embossed decorative leather wrap cover. This construction is characteristic of West African bookmaking traditions. The text is written in the barnavi script (particular script from Borno), common in Nigeria and Chad and distinguished by bold application, round letters and short lettershafts. Additional characteristics of this Qur’an are the decorative inserted tables that serve to divide chapters and sections. These are composed as geometric patterns with simple repeat motifs—circles, cross, double-T and others, which are rendered as colorful grids in red, brown and sparkling yellow. In addition to reflecting the artistic vibrancy of West Africa, these patterns bear talismanic and other meanings that surpass the devotional function of such manuscripts.”

The History And Mystery of Bilikisu Sungbo Shrine In Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, South West Nigeria 🇳🇬

Bilikisu Sungbo, was said to have traveled all the way from Ethiopia 🇪🇹 down to Ijebu-Ode where she d.ied and was buried. The natives of Ijebu-Ode hold strong and popular claims about the identity of the controversial Bilikisu Sungbo. They claimed that she was the Queen of Sheba mentioned in the bible to have visited the wise king Solomon at height of his powers. They also claimed that Bilikisu Sungbo was the Quranic Queen Baliqs of Ethopia (from which the name Bilikisu was derived) who visited king Sulaiman. Another source has it that Bilikisu Sungbo was a wealthy woman and the leader of a group of women potters who traveled to far away places. Also, she was believed to possess supernatural powers with which she dug ditches around villages in Ijebu-Ode.

Howbeit, the tradition of the Ijebu people forbid women and dogs to visit the spot where Bilikisu Sungbo was buried. At the shrine, there is a small open ground with no grass growing on it. This place is said to be the place where the ancient queen was washed before being buried, and because of her supernatural powers, no plant or grass can ever grow on the spot.
In 1995, Bilikisu Sungbo’s shrine was added to the cultural category of UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Bilikisu Sungbo ‘grave-shrine’ will forever remain a pride of Ijebu-Ode people.
