Last year, with the support of many amazing people, I was able to put smiles on the faces of some sickle cell warriors, and I’m grateful for everyone who joined me.

This year, I’m doing it again.

My goal is to support 10 warriors with a little care package containing things that can make a difference in their everyday lives:

🔥 Reusable hot-water bottles for warmth and comfort during painful moments
💧 Reusable water bottles to encourage proper hydration
🧦 Warm socks to help during cold periods
💊 Medication support where appropriate, according to the warrior’s needs and medical advice

These may look like little things, but as warriors, we know that sometimes the little things can bring comfort when we need it most.

I’m inviting you to join me in putting a smile on the faces of 10 warriors this year.

You don’t have to do something big. ₦1,000, ₦2,000, ₦5,000 or whatever you can comfortably contribute can go a long way when we all come together.

Ahhh, how I wish it was something else that stopped me from attending my sister’s wedding. 💔

Missing such a special day because of sickle cell still hurts me so much. I keep thinking about all the things I would have done, the dancing, pictures, laughter and just being there for my sister. 😭

Please, this is the person we lost. 💔🕊️

I think I need to clarify this because some people have been calling me this morning asking if I’m okay. Someone literally called me and said, “Ajibade, are you okay? We heard you are dead.” 😭

Apparently, because I used my own picture when I made the announcement, some people thought it was me.

No, please. I am here. ❤️

This beautiful soul in this picture is the person we lost. And honestly, I still find it very difficult to believe that she is gone.

She was not just a member of the group to me. She communicated well with us, participated in the group, and over time she felt like a friend. That is why this loss is really painful for me.

What makes it even harder is that she celebrated her birthday just last Thursday, and now we are here mourning her. 💔 Life is truly fragile.

Please remember her in your prayers and also pray for her family. May God give them the strength to bear this painful loss.

Rest peacefully, dear warrior. 🕊️🤍
You will truly be missed.
