BIOGRAPHY
PA Elder Samson AGBO-OLA BAYODE was born at Ehin Ogbe, Owo, Ondo State, on the 2nd of February 1933.
He was born to Late Jacob Bayode who was a descendant of His Royal Highness Olupenmen Okenbaloye, and Ojumu Ijamuroagun.
His mother was Late Princess Aina Jola-Ade a descendant of the Late Alafin of Afin Akoko, Oba Isijola.
Due to his mother's early demise, Pa Agbo-Ola moved together with his brother Late Jimmy Bayode to Ikare to live with their maternal uncle, Alhaji Kilani Aderibigbe Balogun and their grandmother Princess Ashimowu Jolade. He later came back to Owo when he was 12 years old to live with his Father and to continue his education.
Unable to further his education beyond modern school level, due to the absence of his late mother, Pa Agbo-Ola ventured into large scale farming and established a cocoa plantation as well as other crops plantations. He was very successful and also won two time awards of the best cocoa plantation farmer for major export in Ondo state.
He was reputed for his humility, diligence, kindness and hospitality to everyone who knew him, including his labourers in the farms who he housed and cared for affectionately throughout their years of service in his various plantation. Pa Agbo-Ola was known for his remarkable level of patience and tolerance until his departure from the earth. He was a man of peace who would do everything to follow peace with all men according to Hebrew 12:14 who live a quite life with great contentment.
He was a committed member of the Methodist Church, Ehin-Ogbe, Owo, Ondo State where he grew up from his young age with his father who was a renowned organist and pioneer member of the Church. He was baptized and confirmed in Methodist Church. He served diligently in the Church and his activities in the Church were inspiring and commendable. He enjoyed reading his Bible and singing hymns. Until his death he was a Founding member and President (Giwa Egbe) of Isise Sotito of the Methodist Church Ehin Ogbe, Owo Nigeria .
In his later years, he rededicated his life to Christ and became born again.
Pa Agbo-Ola Bayode and his late older brother, late Chief Olusola Bayode were very close and lived peacefully together to the extent their children had to nicknamed them Bami Agba (Snr Father) and Bami Kekere (Jnr Father) to differentiate the two of them when referring to them.
Bami Kekere, until his death, functioned as the Second-in-Command of the Ojumu family.
He was survived by his lovely family; his children, grand children, aged wife ,and his siblings - Mrs Mabel Olabode, Mrs Oreoluwa Aromolaran and Mrs Alice Olajubutu.
