To those attacking me when I said you do not need to shout a loud amen, and that God looks to the loudness of your faith rather than the loudness of your amen, I have a question for you. Acts 10:34 says, "God is no respecter of persons." Since this is true, it means that God has no respect for your prayers over the prayers of a deaf and dumb person.
Now, if the loudness of your amen and your voice affects the efficacy of your prayers, then it means that the prayers of hard of hearing and dumb persons will not have much power.
God is not like that. God's greatest pleasure is to be believed. Hebrews 11:6 says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God."
Yeshua, the Son of God, already told us that BEFORE we pray, God already knows what we will ask Him. "Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”-Matthew 6:8. God is not looking for your words. He is not listening for your loud amen. The only thing He is looking for in your prayers is your faith!
You do not need to shout or repeat yourself when praying. Matthew 6:7 says, "When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words."
Prayer is a solemn matter of faith. Read 1 Kings 18:27 "Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or travelling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”
When it was his turn to pray in 1 Kings 18:37, Elijah did not shout. But God heard him and answered him.
Throughout Scripture, the fastest prayers ever answered have been Hannah's prayer and the prayer of the woman with the issue of blood, and both were SILENT prayers with LOUD faith!
There is time for everything. On rare occasions of Scriptural festivals, shouting may be expedient. But it is not meant to be an everyday occurrence.
