Workshop Alert! (Limited Seats)
We are inviting applications for a fully funded workshop on Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) permafrost modelling.
Permafrost across the Hindu Kush Himalaya is one of the most critical yet data-scarce components of the cryosphere. Direct field monitoring remains sparse, and the research community working on this is still small but growing.
That's exactly why we're running this workshop. Over three intensive days (27–29 July), selected participants will gain working proficiency in GEOtop numerical modelling, covering:
🔧 Energy balance model setup and input data preparation
🌍 Simulation of surface energy fluxes
❄️ Snow and ground temperature dynamics
📊 Model evaluation against field observations
🏔️ Interpretation for Himalayan permafrost contexts
We're selecting only 20 participants.
If you or someone in your network works in permafrost research in the HKH and meets the eligibility criteria, apply now.
Application deadline: 15 June 2026
