“So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye…” 🎶
Yes friends the time has come. Tauranga is calling us into a new chapter, and that means our beloved 'Niravu', at 1314 Pohangina Road, Pohangina, is ready for its next kaitiaki.

This place has been our teacher, our refuge, our messy little miracle. The home itself is a cosy 95m² Lockwood, built in 2005, with
🏡 3 bedrooms (2 doubles + 1 single),
🛁 1 bathroom,
🚙 3 parking spaces.
All of this sits on 2642m² of living, breathing whenua.

We’ve kept everything here organic — no sprays, no synthetic shortcuts, just time, compost, and many buckets of seaweed brew. The soil has been treated like whānau, and it shows.

And the garden… well, you know us.

Because this place grew us as much as we grew it.

The food forest spills over with life:
citrus, raspberries, gooseberries, currants, strawberries, blueberries, apricot, cherry, feijoas, artichokes, yakons, walnuts, hazelnuts, peaches, avocados, loquats, figs, grapevine, passionfruit, apples, pears, plums…
Every summer something pops up that I swear I never planted.

If you’re tired of road noise, crowds, or life happening too fast, this place slows you down the moment you breathe in.
Here, nights are quiet enough for the Milky Way.
Rain has its own music. And every morning the Ruahine Ranges draw new cloud-art just for you.

You’ll be sharing the ownership with tūī, kererū and fantails.
And… if our neighbour doesn’t claim him first, you might also inherit our son, the white rooster- plus a few of his girls.
Even negotiations for our very old cat and mama dog can be opened 😜

But these two are non-negotiable:
Pepe the hen and Nool the “not-a-puppy-anymore” puppy.
(Some babies simply don’t leave the nest.). We’re looking for someone who will love the wildness, the food, the imperfections, the peace, the chaos, and the quiet magic, just as we did.

We have a decent crop of Urenika (purple spuds) and garlic. I am trying to put into practice what I have learned from the organic horticulture course, and I think the soil is thanking us with decent-sized crops. We are in a position to sell these this time. How did your garlic season go?
Mine was good enough considering the fact that was tooooo late to harvest due to our holiday.
My largest bulb weighed over 200gms with a diameter above 90 mm.

Some of you have planted my seed cloves and would love to see them. If you want to pick my brain on growing them, I am here.
