ANNUAL CLERGY RETREAT 2026 BEGINS

Today, the priests of the Diocese of Aitape commenced their Annual Clergy Retreat, held from 9–13 June 2026 at St. John of God Conference Centre.

This sacred time of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal brings together the clergy of the diocese to deepen their relationship with Christ and to strengthen their commitment to pastoral ministry.

The retreat is being preached by Rev. Fr. George Rojan, VC, whose reflections will guide the participants throughout these days of spiritual renewal.

Let us keep all our priests in our prayers, that this retreat may be a time of grace, peace, and renewed zeal for the mission of the Gospel.

"Come away by yourselves to a quiet place and rest a while." (Mark 6:31)

Corpus Christi Celebration at Romei Parish

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, the faithful of Romei Parish, under the pastoral care of the CMF Fathers, gathered to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi – the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

This year's celebration was made even more special as 31 children received their First Holy Communion, welcoming Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for the very first time. Surrounded by their families, catechists, and the parish community, the children participated prayerfully in this important milestone of their faith journey.

During the Eucharistic celebration, the faithful were reminded that the Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. Just as Jesus gives Himself completely to us in the Blessed Sacrament, we are called to grow in faith, love, and service to one another.

The parish community congratulates the 31 First Communicants and thanks their parents, catechists, teachers, and all who helped prepare them for this sacred day. May these young disciples continue to deepen their friendship with Jesus and always cherish the gift of the Holy Eucharist.

As we celebrate Corpus Christi, let us renew our love for the Blessed Sacrament and become living witnesses of Christ's presence in our families, communities, and daily lives.

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever." (John 6:51)

✨ SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI & THE EUCHARISTIC JUBILEE YEAR 2025–2026 ✨

"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him." (John 6:56)

Today, as we celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, we give thanks to God for the priceless gift of the Holy Eucharist — the living presence of Jesus Christ among His people.

The Eucharist is not merely a symbol or a remembrance. It is Christ Himself: His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, given for the life of the world. Through the Eucharist, we are nourished, strengthened, and united as one family of faith.

During this Eucharistic Renewal 2025–2026, the Diocese of Aitape invites all the faithful to deepen their love for the Blessed Sacrament, to spend more time in prayer and adoration, and to become living witnesses of Christ in our families, communities, and society.

As pilgrims of hope, let us renew our commitment to:
✝️ Receive the Holy Eucharist with faith and reverence.
✝️ Spend time in Eucharistic Adoration.
✝️ Live lives of charity, forgiveness, and service.
✝️ Share the joy of the Gospel with others.

Let us also pray for our Diocese of Aitape, that this year may renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and inspire us to proclaim Christ with courage and love.

🙏 Lord Jesus, Bread of Life, remain with us. Nourish us with Your grace and make us one Body in You, so that Your Kingdom may come among us.

Happy Feast of Corpus Christi!

Eucharist School 2026 at St. Solanus KST

From 3–5 June 2026, St. Solanus KST, under St. Ignatius Cathedral Parish, successfully conducted a three-day Eucharist School Program at the grounds of St. Solanus Chapel, Aitape.

The program was organized with the aim of strengthening and deepening participants’ understanding of the Catholic faith, particularly the mystery and importance of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, which stands at the heart of Christian life and mission.

The sessions were facilitated by three dedicated presenters: Fr. Walter OFM, Fr. Peter Minh OFM, and Dn. Michel OFM. Through inspiring presentations, reflections, discussions, and practical examples, participants were encouraged not only to learn about the Eucharist but also to live and share its values in their daily lives.

May the fruits of this Eucharist School inspire all participants to grow in faith, love, and service, becoming true witnesses of Christ in their families, schools, and communities.

"The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life." (Lumen Gentium, 11).

🌹 CLOSING OF THE MONTH OF MAY IN HONOR OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER 🌹

Today 30/05/2026, the Cathedral Parish of St. Ignatius joyfully celebrated the closing of the Month of May, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Despite the heavy rain that began yesterday evening and continued throughout the day, the faithful from the three outstations, together with the students, faithfully carried out the Marian procession from their villages to gather at St. Ignatius Cathedral for the solemn Eucharistic celebration.

The celebration was attended by a large number of parishioners, students, and guests. Present were Fr. Peter Minh, OFM (Assistant Parish Priest), Fr. Emmanuel, SSI (School Chaplain), the Deacon Mikel, the Presentation Sisters, the Clare Sisters, the School Principal, teachers, and students.

Following the Holy Mass, children representing the parish offered flowers to Our Blessed Mother as a sign of love and devotion. The school brass band also performed in thanksgiving to God through the intercession of Mary, bringing joy and reverence to this beautiful celebration.

We thank God for the gift of faith and for the protection and maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary throughout this Month of May. May she continue to guide our parish, our families, and our young people ever closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.
