Barangay Gabas Compact Vegetable Production Area
As the first batch under the Baybay City Food Resiliency Program, 16 farmers in Barangay Gabas were assisted in establishing a compact vegetable production area. Their fresh produce is now sold through the GAVEGA Talipapa, a local market that promotes food sustainability and provides direct income opportunities for farmers.
This initiative was made possible through the support and guidance of Technicians Myrna Romera and Mike Jefferson Camposano.

In 2020, the first batch of beneficiaries under the Baybay City Food Resiliency Program was organized and deployed. One of my first assignments, together with Myrna Albuera, was to establish a production area in Brgy. Hibunawan, Baybay City.

This site soon became a model for sustainable agriculture and community resilience. It even caught the attention of DA-7 Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez, who visited the area and recognized the efforts of both the farmers and the City Agriculture Office.
