Debunking myths on low carb and intermittent fasting lifestyle ‼️

Sharing my OMAD today:
350 g veal sirloin and 250 g ground beef

Calories: 1436 kcal
Protein: 113 g
Total carb: < 1 g
Fat: 61.55 g

"Ang hirap mag low carb nagugutom ako"

- Sino po ba nagturo na need mo magpagutom? Sa low carb and fasting lifestyle we eat nutrient dense food when we are hungry and stop when we are satisfied. Kung kain ibon ka (sobra konti) at yung kinakaen mo pa ay hindi- nutrient dense, magugutom ka po talaga.
Di po uubra dito yung 1 itlog 1 pipino tapos tubig tubig nalang.

"Budget friendly po ba ang low carb diet? Baka kase di ko afford."

- Typical na concern po ito ng marami. Ang sagot po jan depende. Depende sa kung ano po ba ang batayan mo ng budget friendly. Maaring ang perception naten ay magkaiba pero para sa akin budget friendly. Why? Imagine kapag naka low carb ka, kahit puro karne pa yan, magkano ang isang kilo nun? Sa isang araw malamang pinaka marami na po ang 1 kilo sayo, may itlog ka pa nyan. Dahil nutrient dense kinaen mo, busog ka maghapon. Di mo need kumaen ng maya't maya. Sa long term perspective wala ng mas tatalo pa sa maititipid mo sa maintenance na gamot, posibleng hospitalization at stress. Naniniwala ka ba sa Health is Wealth? :) Ako kase oo. Mas gugustuhin ko ng ilagay ang pera ko sa masustansyang pagkain kesa sa gamot.

"Mahirap po mag track ng macros, especially ng carbs."

- If you focus sa nutrient-dense food (eggs, meat, seafood) halos 0 carb (except egg with ca 0.5g per piece) po lahat yan. Wala ka naman need bilangin jan, maliban nlang kung ganito ka mag low carb:

A.) May konting karne, may lettuce/cucumber, may shritaki rice, may keto treats.
- Naku mahirap nga i track yan. 😅 The more na nag a add ka ng kung ano ano kahit sabihin mong low carb yan, mahirap yan talaga.

B.) Puro salad ang meal, may konti ulit karne, then may kung ano anong lc condiments like salad dressings or kewpie mayonaise, almond milk drink, lc bread atbp.

Creamy Baked Egg Bread (French Toast Style)

Blend together:

8 eggs

1 block cream cheese

4 tsp butter

A splash of vanilla

Pour into a greased baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes, or until set and lightly golden.

Once cooled, slice and toast each side in a pan for a French toast–style vibe.

Since I’m diabetic, I top mine with sugar-free syrup, but you can add whatever low-carb toppings you like.

Simple, filling, and surprisingly good!

"Keto Pancakes"

Recipe

1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp almond flour (60g)

1/2 cup full fat cream cheese (125g)

4 eggs

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp granulated sweetener (optional)

butter for frying

Instructions

Mix all ingredients in a blender.

Fry pancakes in melted butter in a non-stick pan over a medium heat. Turn over once the centre begins to bubble. The pancakes should be smallish, ca 10-12 cm in diameter. About the right size to fit them in the toaster the next day should you be so lucky to have any leftovers.

Crispy Keto Onion Rings
Ingredients:
- 1 large onion, sliced into rings
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying (such as avocado or coconut oil)
Instructions:
1. Begin by heating oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
2. In a shallow bowl, combine almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten.
4. Dip each onion ring into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it in the almond flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
5. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated onion rings in the oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Remove the onion rings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
7. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
