Seek Intimacy with God.
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4 KJV
Isn’t it amazing that David wrote the opening scripture during a time when he was in distress, receiving threats on his life, and running endlessly from his enemies while bearing the weight of Israel as their king? Most of us would have whined, complained, or asked God to take away our lives, but David’s one and only desire was to remain close to the presence of God. Life’s circumstances didn’t move him because his eyes were fixed on God.
Beloved, life can be demanding today. Our times now are far from what David’s generation experienced, for they had no technology, fewer distractions, and more tools the enemy could use against God’s people. But what we can learn from the heart of David is his heart for the Lord. May we always seek intimacy from the Lord; not wealth, fame, or anything this world can offer. He alone is enough!
📩Prayer point: Lord God, the Lover of our soul, thank You for Who You are! Nothing in this world can truly satisfy us—not our cravings, fulfilled dreams, or anything else. You are our one thing, and we desire closeness, peace, and love only from You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
