If you have ever taken a psychology class, you may have heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, which looks at the structure of needs that influence our choices and behaviors. But have you ever heard of "The Buyerarchy of Needs"?

The Buyerarchy of Needs, coined by Sarah Lazarovic, is a powerful reminder of our journey towards sustainable living. At the top, it encourages us to "use what we have" and "borrow" before resorting to new purchases. It emphasizes the importance of conscious consumption and reducing our environmental impact.

Here's the truth: We've not always been perfect at doing this ourselves. But you know what? It’s okay. Conscious living is a continuous learning process, and we're all in this together. Each small step counts, and even if we stumble along the way (which is pretty inevitable for us all), what matters is that we hold onto our intention, let go of perfectionism and simply embrace our progress (however incremental or small that may be), instead. We say this as a reminder not only to ourselves, but for you too! Be kind to yourself on this journey 🤍

Do you know the significance of 5 June?

5 June is celebrated as ‘The World Environment Day’, following the historic United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in 1972 . This was the first time that issues of environment were put on the global agenda and paved the way for multilateral collaboration on environment.

This year marks 50 years to that conference and highlights how far (or not) we have come to solve our planetary crisis. It is a moment of reflection and a push to stronger action on climate change!

While it’s important to make sustainable choices everyday, as individuals, it’s crucial to consistently raise our voices and demand climate action. Here’s to putting the climate agenda to the forefront of all our conversations 🍀 🌍

Solving the planetary crisis calls for collaborations by all actors. See this short practical guide prepared by UNEP to highlight the role of different actors going forward.

By the time you get to the dried-on-haandi pans and pasta-covered plates, you *need* a sponge that knows what to do.

Is it possible an eco-friendly scrubber, made from 100% natural materials, can get the job done? We say YES!

Presenting our Biodegradable Dish Sponge and Kitchen Loofah pack!  🧽

Our dish sponges are made from 100% plant based materials with a natural coconut fiber scrubber and wood cellulose sponge. This makes it perfect for washing dishes or cleaning your kitchen counters. Each sponge outlasts approx 30 rolls of paper towels and will bio-degrade naturally at end of life.

Our kitchen loofahs, on the other hand, are organic loofah veggies with a 100% cotton handle - making them breathable, compostable and a great replacement for all kinds of plastic scrubs. Perfect to use not only in the kitchen, but also in the bathroom!

How to Use: Before first use, place the sponge or loofah in water to allow it absorb water. Hang to dry after using. Toss into compost pile after 1 month.

We ship in plastic-free packaging made with recycled kraft and jute. 📦
