If you have ever taken a psychology class, you may have heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, which looks at the structure of needs that influence our choices and behaviors. But have you ever heard of "The Buyerarchy of Needs"?
The Buyerarchy of Needs, coined by Sarah Lazarovic, is a powerful reminder of our journey towards sustainable living. At the top, it encourages us to "use what we have" and "borrow" before resorting to new purchases. It emphasizes the importance of conscious consumption and reducing our environmental impact.
Here's the truth: We've not always been perfect at doing this ourselves. But you know what? It’s okay. Conscious living is a continuous learning process, and we're all in this together. Each small step counts, and even if we stumble along the way (which is pretty inevitable for us all), what matters is that we hold onto our intention, let go of perfectionism and simply embrace our progress (however incremental or small that may be), instead. We say this as a reminder not only to ourselves, but for you too! Be kind to yourself on this journey 🤍
