Most people see me at the stall or on livestream now… but not many know how this journey really began.
A few years ago, I was working overseas as a regional manager in the Philippines — travelling, leading teams, building a stable career. Then COVID hit, borders closed, and overnight my life flipped. I returned to Singapore with no job and no clear path.
To survive, I took on something I never imagined for myself: becoming a fishmonger.
At first, it was tough — long hours, unpredictable income, and the pressure of starting from zero. The stigma of being a hawker in Singapore was real. But step by step, as I learned the trade, woke up before dawn, secured seafood at the port, and served customers daily… something changed.
I found pride.
I found humility.
I found purpose.
What began as a necessity grew into a passion. With the support of our community and the power of social media livestreams, this business became bigger than anything I expected.
This is my story — a reminder that sometimes the hardest detours in life lead us to the purpose we didn’t know we were looking for.
