Insurance word of the week: SUM ASSURED 📖

(Also called: Sum Insured or Face Amount)

Simply put: it's the maximum amount your insurance policy will pay out.

Example:
→ You have a life insurance policy with a sum assured of ₱1,000,000
→ If you pass away, your beneficiary receives ₱1,000,000

Why it matters: Many people are UNDERINSURED, they have coverage, but the sum assured isn't enough to actually support their family.

Rule of thumb: Your life insurance sum assured should be at least 5–10× your annual income.
