A Call to Walk in the Light: Bishop Paul Tokmac Lual Preaches from the Mount of Transfiguration
RUMBEK – In a powerful and inspiring sermon at St. Barnabas Cathedral, Rt. Rev'd Paul Tokmac called the congregation to embrace the transformative light of Christ in their daily lives.
Preaching on Matthew 17:1-9, the story of Jesus' transfiguration, Bishop Tokmac urged everyone to follow the example of Christ, who is the ultimate light of the world. He emphasized that this divine light should guide the actions, words, and community work of all believers.
The service was graced by esteemed church leaders, including the Emeritus Bishop of Eastern Bhar-el-Ghazal, the former Dean of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, the Diocesan Bishop of Rumbek, Alapayo Manyang Kuctiel, the Emeritus Bishop of Cueibet, Rt. Rev'd Elijah Matueny Awet, and the Emeritus Bishop of Akot. Government officials were also in attendance, uniting the community in worship and reflection.
