‎وقالت الشبكة إن القصف وقع خلال فترة ذروة تشهد حركة كثيفة للمدنيين، ما أدى إلى سقوط عشرات القتلى والجرحى. كما أفادت تقارير بأن مستشفى كان من بين المواقع التي تعرضت للقصف، دون وضوح فوري بشأن حجم الأضرار.

🔴 BREAKING: South Sudan Government May Be Dissolved in October, Spokesperson Says

South Sudan’s transitional government could be dissolved in October and replaced by a caretaker administration ahead of the planned December 22 elections, government spokesperson and Information Minister Ateny Wek Ateny has said.

Ateny told Radio Tamazuj that the government is unlikely to be dissolved on September 22, the date that falls three months before the scheduled elections, because President Salva Kiir Mayardit is expected to be in New York attending the United Nations General Assembly.

The possibility of an October dissolution has raised legal and political questions, with civil society activists calling on the government to comply with the September 22 requirement under the National Election Act.

🔴 BREAKING: Riek Machar’s Defence Team Raises Serious Safety Concerns During Trial in South Sudan

The defence team representing First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and seven co-defendants has raised concerns over alleged threats to the lives and safety of the accused and members of the defence team during their ongoing trial in Juba.

Lead defence lawyer Geri Raimondo Legge told the Special Court that there was a serious threat to the defence team and the eight accused, particularly Machar, who is the fifth accused. The defence called for immediate protective measures and an independent investigation into the alleged intimidation.

Monday’s proceedings were adjourned after Judge Stephen Simon was unable to attend due to illness, leaving the three-member panel incomplete. The case is expected to resume on Friday, September 11, when the court is expected to rule on a defence application concerning the defendants’ constitutional right to legal representation.

Machar and the other defendants deny the charges arising from the March 2025 violence in Nasir, Upper Nile State.

🔴 BREAKING: Dut Majokdit Rejects Documents Allegedly Written by Riek Machar

Hon. Dut Majokdit, a member of the SPLM/A-IO and Chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission for Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, has declared that documents circulating on social media purportedly to be written by Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon are “entirely fake.”

Majokdit claims that since Machar’s detention on March 26, 2025, he has had no access to communication and therefore could not have authored the documents currently circulating online.

He urged SPLM/A-IO members and the public to disregard the alleged documents and called for an inclusive political dialogue and the immediate and unconditional release of Machar to help resolve the ongoing crisis and restore peace.
