Chaos Within Kinsmen is a sociopolitical play exploring the common adage "Power corrupt, but absolute power corrupts absolutely." Set in an imaginary traditional chiefdom, Pokenda, the play delves into the questions of power struggle, successions, democracy and the strength of righteous people working together to overcome a societal evil to free themselves from anarchy and abuse of power.
Duluma, a cousin to the chieftain of Pokenda, with the aid of a powerful wizard, and intrigue obstinately and clandestinely works his way to the realm of power and he succeeds his slain cousin. Materialism and greed overcome his sanity blocking his ears from listening to the voices reason that advise him to let the long tested normal and traditional succession processes take root. He imposes himself on the people and clings to the throne. Will his reign of terror last? Will the blood of his peace-loving cousin come to haunt him?
The play explores the terrors of greed that causes the pain and the trouble societies. Through pe***ng culture, power and dissenting voices, he alarms the reader into thinking about their surroundings. Do you rise in the situation of injustice?
