The Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, H.E. Gen. Charles Madut Akol, on Thursday addressed a public rally at Mabil Freedom Square during his first official visit to Aweil East County. In his address, the Governor called on the local population to support government development efforts by maintaining peace and unity among themselves and with neighboring communities.
Governor Madut emphasized that lasting peace is a prerequisite for development, noting that communal conflicts hinder service delivery and economic progress. He urged community leaders, youth, and women to play an active role in promoting coexistence and resolving disputes through dialogue.
The Governor further reassured residents of the State Governmentโs commitment to improving basic services, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure across the county. He said his visit was aimed at assessing the general situation on the ground and listening directly to the concerns and priorities of the people of Aweil East County.
Governor Madut was accompanied on the trip by the Speaker of State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abuk Jiel Dhieu, National Members of Parliament, State Security Advisor, State Ministers, Chairpersons of State Independent Commissions, Representatives of National and State SPLM Secretariat as well as Directors of State Security Agencies.
