H.E. Jacob Dollar Ruot Arrives in Nasir on Key Peace Mission

H.E. Jacob Dollar Ruot, Governor of Upper Nile State, Arrives in Nasir County today as part of his ongoing peace mission across the state.
The Governor was warmly received at the Nasir airstrip by the Nasir County Commissioner, senior government officials, traditional leaders, and community representatives. The welcome ceremony demonstrated strong local support for the Governor’s efforts to promote stability, reconciliation, and unity among the people of Upper Nile.
The Governor’s visit aims to:
Strengthen peace and coexistence among communities;
Engage local authorities and citizens on security and development priorities;
Encourage reconciliation and dialogue in areas affected by conflict;
Reinforce the state government’s commitment to restoring lasting peace.
In his brief remarks upon arrival, H.E. Jacob Dollar Ruot reaffirmed that peace remains the “foundation upon which Upper Nile’s future will be built,” and called on all communities to join hands in advancing harmony and mutual understanding.
The Commissioner of Nasir County expressed gratitude for the Governor’s visit, noting that the presence of the state leadership brings renewed hope for improved security, development, and cooperation.
Governor will hold a series of meetings and community engagements during his stay in Nasir before continuing his wider peace tour across the state.
