🌞 August Hatchery Update 🐣

With the summer heat settling in, I'm pressing pause on egg incubation for the month of August.

Right now, I don't have climate control inside the hatchery, and I'd rather wait than risk the health and quality of developing chicks and poults. The well-being of my birds will always come first. 🤍

That means there will be no hatching eggs, chicks, ducklings, poults, or quail available throughout August.

This break also gives me time to focus on improving the hatchery so we can come back stronger when the temperatures cool down.

Thank you all for your understanding and continued support of Rustic & Roam. We'll be back to hatching as soon as Mother Nature gives us a break! 🌵☀️

You want to homestead?
No matter how much 💩 this homestead throws at me, I still wouldn't trade this life for anything.

The setbacks are real. The messes are endless. The plans don't always go as expected.

But every sunrise, every hatch, every new life, and every little victory reminds me exactly why I keep going. 🤍

Homesteading isn't always easy... but it's always worth it.

I genuinely think these little quail decided the baby turkey was its mom. 🥹🤍

I moved the turkey poults into the quail brooder for just a few minutes while I reset their cage... and this happened.

The little quail wouldn't leave the turkey's side, and the turkey seemed completely happy to let them snuggle up. 😭

Now I don't want to separate them. My heart can't handle this level of cute. 🥺🐥🦃
