Let’s correct this quickly and clearly.

Aunties Emporium does not stand for hate, division, or attacks on any community—period. Our two-spirit and LGBTQ+ relatives are part of our families, our staff, and our circle. They are loved, respected, and welcomed here. Always.

What is being shared online is the words of an individual and does not represent Aunties Emporium in any way. We will not allow our name, our work, or our values to be misrepresented.

We have spent years building something rooted in culture, community, and inclusion—not tearing people down.

And for those speaking on our doors being closed—let’s be just as clear:

We are not closed permanently.

We are in a temporary transition while Auntie handles significant family responsibilities after the loss of both parents, along with state and estate matters that require time and attention.

Even in this season, the work has not stopped. We are still showing up for our community in meaningful ways behind the scenes and will continue to do so.

If you truly know Aunties Emporium, then you know what we stand for.

If you don’t—ask us directly instead of spreading assumptions.

We will continue to move with integrity, protect our space, and stand in respect for all people.

After thoughtful reflection, we’ve made the decision to close our current Aunties location at the end of this month as we transition into our next chapter.

In our first year, we experienced meaningful success—especially through our community programming—and we are incredibly grateful for the support, encouragement, and connection we’ve built along the way. What started as a business quickly became something much more: a place where people could gather, share, and feel a sense of belonging.

That experience has given us a clear understanding of what our community values most, and it is guiding how we move forward.

This is not the end of Aunties—it is an evolution.

As we step into this next phase, we will be focusing on more sustainable and flexible ways to continue serving our community. This includes accepting a limited number of private bookings and catering requests, while also exploring expanded community and nonprofit-based outreach, including mobile opportunities that have been strongly requested.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your support has meant more than words can express, and we look forward to what comes next.
