Maureen and I want to thank everyone for a great season at the Ashland Farmers Market! Last Saturday was our final day for the year. As our long-time customers know, we are usually at the market through August, but this year the doctor grounded me: not much farming gets done if you can’t lift more than 10 lbs!

We will be planting onions and garlic next month for the 2025 season, and we look forward to seeing you next May!

We will have plenty of Hanover tomatoes as well as Italian Roma tomatoes, perfect for making marinara sauce. We’ll also have okra, blueberries and basil.

The Market is open 9am to noon every Saturday right in front of the Town Hall, 121 Thompson St. Plenty of free parking on street or in the municipal lot next to Caboose and Origin Beer Lab.

Hanover tomatoes!

Sweet corn!

Blueberries!

The corn is a non-GMO triple-sweet bi-color from Harris Seed. It’s our personal favorite. We just finished pulling it this morning. No pesticides on this corn! For those who like Silver Queen, this bi-color is sweeter and stays sweeter for much longer than Silver Queen.

We’ll also have new Yukon Gold and Red Pontiac potatoes, daikon radishes, peppers and English cucumbers.

The good news: the lack of rain has resulted in some very sweet blueberries! 😊 And we will have plenty of them.

The bad news: The lack of rain means no tomatoes this week! ☹

Unlike nearly every other farmers market in the Richmond area, The Ashland Farmers Market is a " producers-only market," (no re-sale) in which all products come from within a 30 miles radius of Ashland. The many vendors at the market offer a variety of meats, eggs, baked goods, vegetables, plants, fresh flowers, herbs, and jams & jellies, all grown or produced by the vendor.
