L-arginine is an amino acid naturally found in red meat, poultry, fish, and dairy. It is necessary for making proteins and is commonly used for circulation. L-arginine is converted in the body into a chemical called nitric oxide. Nitric oxide causes blood vessels to open wider for improved blood flow.
L-Ornithine is another amino acid responsible for nitric oxide and protein synthesis, making it a good choice for athletic individuals. It may also boost blood circulation and improve workout recovery times while amplifying the natural detox effects of the body.
L-Citrulline is an amino acid that was first found in watermelon and works by increasing vasodilation which is the widening of arteries or veins. It’s associated with lower blood pressure and increased blood flow. After citrulline is consumed, some is converted to arginine which is converted into a molecule called nitric oxide, which causes vasodilation of blood vessels by relaxing the smooth muscle cells that constrict them.
