Dinner is served at Benicia Main Street!

It's a long way from San Juan Capistrano but, swallows return to the historic Southern Pacific Depot - home to the Benicia Main Street Program - each spring because it provides the perfect habitat: flat, 90-degree overhangs to safely attach their mud nests, textured surfaces for adhesion, and the nearby nutrient-rich waters of the Carquinez Strait. 

In addition to the ideal nesting sites, these highly social cliff swallows return to the exact same location generation after generation for a few key reasons:

Thank you to all who came out for our season opener With over 3384 attendees, amazing vendors - loyal favorites and new additions - and great music by our very own DJ Bob.
