Over the weekend we did a weekly visit to about 10 Hellertown residents. One such resident was because of a jar of Ponds got into our heart ❤️. Her first request and regular request is a jar of Ponds which we leave for her from time to time. She cooks for her neighbors, took care of a family member who was on hospice and is just a beautiful upbeat person and carriers a lot on her shoulders. It was the first time that in months we got to see each other face to face. A big hug was in order ♥️.
It is moments like that we understand why we are called to help our neighbors in Hellertown as a genuine neighbor. This stop brings a smile to all of them not because of what we bring but because they know someone cares. On Sunday they all got something they needed it is just a time of smiles, laughter and conversation. Oh and a round of bananas, yes the most popular request along with paper towels, laundry soap, tissues, and other different food items they all come out with around 4 needed items.
Thank you to all for the generous donations from the senior list we see smiles and hearts touched. Some have no family all the more of why this has been such an important component to this mission.
Happy Wednesday and just think what you can learn from a container of Ponds, who would have ever imagined this could bring such joy to a person who is going through life’s trials.
