Lost & Found Policy & Disclaimer
How to Claim an Item:
If you see your item, please send us a direct message on Facebook or speak to a manager in-store.
To claim an item, you must be able to provide a detailed description of it (e.g., lock screen photo, specific contents of a wallet, or unique markings).
A valid photo ID AS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING WILL be REQUIRE to claim high-value items:
1. State Driver's License: (e.g., a Minnesota driver's license or one from out-of-state).
2. State-Issued ID Card: A non-driver identification card issued by the DMV or state government.
3. U.S. Passport or Passport Card.
4. U.S. Military ID: (Active duty, reserve, retired, or dependent).
5. Permanent Resident Card: (Also known as a Green Card).
6. Tribal Identification Card: Issued by a federally recognized Native American tribe.
Terms and Waiver of Liability:
Holding Period: 8 Market will hold found items for a maximum of 30 days from the date they are found.
Disposal: If an item remains unclaimed after 30 days, it will be donated to a local charity, discarded, or handed over to local law enforcement (in the case of IDs, wallets, or fi****ms), at the sole discretion of management.
Perishables: Any perishable items, food, or heavily soiled items will be discarded immediately for health and safety reasons.
Liability: 8 Market, including its management and staff, is not responsible or liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property brought onto the premises. We provide this Lost & Found as a courtesy to our guests. By claiming an item, you agree to release the business from any liability related to the condition of the returned item.
How to Claim a Lost ID at 8 Market
If you believe your identification card, driver's license, or passport is in our Lost & Found, please follow these steps to securely retrieve it:
1. Speak with a Manager
Please come to the customer service desk or main checkout and ask to speak directly with the manager on duty. For security reasons, standard staff members cannot hand out identification cards.
2. Provide Exact Details
Before we can pull the ID from our secure storage, you will need to confirm the specific details printed on the card. Be prepared to state:
Your full legal name exactly as it appears on the ID.
Your date of birth.
The exact address listed on the card.
3. Provide Secondary Verification
To protect our customers from identity theft, we must verify that you are the owner of the requested document. Please provide at least one of the following:
Another form of identification with your name on it (e.g., a student ID, Costco card, or work badge).
A credit or debit card that matches the name on the lost ID.
A clear photograph of the ID on your smartphone.
Logging into a secure app (like your mobile banking or insurance app) on your phone that displays your full name.
Important Notice:
We take customer security very seriously. If we cannot reasonably verify your identity using the methods above, we reserve the right to hold the ID. All unclaimed IDs and wallets are turned over to local law enforcement after 30 days.
