After four generations in business (since 1919!), local institution S&S Deli will close its doors. It’s classic Jewish establishments like this one that inspire Mamaleh’s ethos - a business built on community and preserving Jewish food traditions!

S&S is short for ‘es and es,’ a Yiddish expression for ‘eat and eat!’ We are grateful to the S&S family for paving the way for businesses like ours. We’ll be stopping in before their last day on June 7th, and we hope you will too!

Happy Shavuot! We've got all things dairy-based..... and the special pill that will get you through it.

For those who don't know about Shavuot, this year it runs from the evening of May 21st until May 23rd. It takes place seven weeks after Passover, and celebrates the day God revealed the Torah to the Israelites. One of the ways to observe is by eating dairy with foods like blintzes or cheesecake.

We’ve got some very exciting news to share! After being BIG fans of Adam Mansbach’s #1 New York Times best-selling ‘Go the F*ck to Sleep’ series for years, we’re hosting him at Mamaleh’s Cambridge! He’ll discuss the newest addition of his series, ‘Go the F*ck to College,’ with Rabbi Charlie Schwartz of Lehrhaus. They’ll chat about book, the origin of the word ‘f*ck,’ and Adam will sign some copies! Join us at our Cambridge location on Sunday, June 7th from 5:30 to 7pm!

Before he joins us at Mamaleh’s, Adam will be visiting Lehrhaus to host a discussion of his novel, ‘The Golem of Brooklyn’ - the story of a stoned Brooklyn art teacher, a nine-and-a-half-foot Yiddish-speaking clay monster, and the very old question of how Jews defend themselves in a dangerous world. He’ll talk to us about the folklore, the fury, and the farce behind the book. Join us at Lehrhaus from 3-4:30pm and enjoy a welcome drink made by Mamaleh’s. You can pick up copies of the book at Lehrhaus starting on May 25th so you can arrive ready to discuss!
