Unpopular opinion, but you cannot simultaneously demand a strong masculine, traditional man and then resent every quality that makes him one 😐

You cannot ask for leadership while fighting for control. One cannot demand protection while treating his opinions like threats & you cannot preach partnership while believing compromise should only ever come from one side 🤷🏼‍♀️

Somewhere along the way, we confused being an independent woman with needing to be in competition with the man beside us… this is not a dick measuring contest..women don’t actually have one 🤔

A strong woman doesn’t become weak because she allows a good man to lead. A strong man doesn’t become less of a man because he respects the woman beside him.

Men and women were never meant to be identical. There is beauty in a man’s natural role to protect and lead, and a woman’s need to be soft. Femininity doesn’t make you weak, letting a good man lead doesn’t make you less of a woman.

And let’s talk about THE MAN VS. the bear… and let’s realize that we are biologically different for very important reasons… and how many women run to their daddy or another man for help!? 💀

I don’t want my daughter to grow up to be just like me.

I want her to be everything I was too afraid to be at her age.

I want her to speak up before she’s pushed to her breaking point. To walk away the first time someone shows her she deserves better. To stop worrying so much about what people think and start worrying more about what makes HER happy.

I hope she never confuses being a good person with allowing people to treat her poorly. I hope she knows that having a big heart doesn’t mean she has to carry everyone else’s problems.

I want her to have opinions, set boundaries, make mistakes, and never apologize for being herself.

And more than anything I hope she realizes YEARSSS before I did that her worth has absolutely nothing to do with how other people choose to see or treat her.

I’ve spent a lot of my life learning things the hard way. If there’s one thing I hope I’ve accomplished as her mother, it’s making sure she doesn’t have to learn every single one of those lessons the same way I did. ❤️
