I've been getting freeze-dried dairy orders from all over (mostly USA). But the biggest surprise was one I got over the weekend. The shipping address was VERY strange. I had to Google it. It was for a military base in Kuwait. Then I had to Google again to figure out how to send this. Found out the USPS considers all military bases to be Domestic addresses. Very encouraging. Then went to my Pirate Ship account to figure out how to create the mailing label and get the cost. It was relatively easy to follow the directions and the cost was less than the package I sent to Hawaii the week before. My military customer just wanted some cream and I bought he probably deserved more than that and included a half gallon of milk and a dozen eggs. Better than just saying "Thank you for your service".

I've been watching YouTube videos from all sorts of folks (think most of them are being paid) to show us how to freeze-dry stuff. That would be fine EXCEPT these influencers/teachers are getting their products from the grocery stores. Really? I want to freeze-dry Cheerios and other processed foods that are said to last for 25 years? So I can inflict my grandchildren with plastics, pesticides, growth hormones and all the other crap that's in store bought food??? I actually saw a guy explain how to freeze-dry store bought ice cream sandwiches!!!
For God's sake, buy your products from your local farmers. If the products you want aren't in season yet...wait till they are. Why buy a lemon from Chile when you can wait a month or so and get one fresh from your local farmer? Freeze-dry only locally grown produce and locally farm raised products...for the sake of the planet, your health and the health of your next generations.

The farm is in great shape right now. All animals are doing well, bills are paid, no disasters are hiding in the bushes. And then...my friend and I are driving to Lake City, Fl (about 2 hours from the farm) to pick up a young (14 month), male, in tact, Karakachan (Guardian Livestock dog). He needs a new home as his current one is not working out. He's developed some "issues" (legitimate reasons). So, I'm putting Nadia (my alpha Karakachan female) in one crate for the trip to Lake City. New dog, Dante, will go into another larger crate (in the same vehicle) for the trip home. I would imagine much snarling, growling, crashing, and general mayhem for the first hour or so (yes, they will both have Dramamine before the trip). Hopefully, by the time we make it back to the farm there will be some sort of detente. Dante will be a house dog for the first week to assist him in his "trust" issues. That poor boy. So, the farm will be in an uproar for a while until everyone figures it out. Yes, I will take pictures and video. Here is a picture of Dante from last October.

After almost 10 years of milking my beautiful Jersey cows and delivering to folks in the local area, I had to start a "membership" community as I couldn't deliver to all those smart people who wanted my pure, Jersey dairy products. After loads of research, I purchased a Stay Fresh freeze dryer and can now deliver this glorious milk anywhere!! This incredible machine uses a vacuum to vaporize the frozen liquid (unlike powdered milk that uses heat-which kills the milk). So, you get 100% of the good taste and 99.9% of the original nutrients all in a .....bag ...that is mailed to you! And it lasts a very long time. They say (I don't know who "they" is) an unopened bag of freeze dried milk will last 25 years. and if you open to get some milk today, just keep it sealed in the cupboard and it should last you for many months. You reconstitute it by adding water. 1 cup of freeze dried in a blender and add 1 cup of cold water-blend-and you have 2 cups of pure, raw milk. Do the math to figure out the quart and gallon mixture (I did) and it's pretty amazing. Honest! It tastes exactly like my liquid Jersey cow milk. Go to the website and check it out or go to Google and find out about Freeze Drying. .
