After weeks of drought like conditions, we finally saw the skies open up and hit us with a heavy dose of rain ๐ง๏ธ A welcomed sight for growers! Well, until itโs not. You see, heavy rain can take a toll on delicate crops like strawberries. Hence, why you might see some softer berries in your CSG this week. Itโs not a sign of poor quality, far from it actually. Just the reality of growing tender fruit in real weather. These berries are still sweet, still local, just a bit more perishable and best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Especially, since weโre looking at one of the shortest strawberry seasons in recent memory ๐ A reminder eating with the seasons means taking the highs with the curveballs.
