We're proud to be set net fishermen 🐟

Set net fishing isn't just a great way to catch wild Alaskan salmon, it's also great in term of sustainability.

The process allows us to limit our bycatch, leaving us with just 1-2 fish per season among thousands and thousands and thousand of pounds of salmon that we didn't intend to catch.

As a family fishery focused on sustainability and our impact on Alaska's wildlife, we're so proud to be able to share this season after season.

👋 MEET YOUR MARKET TEAM: MICHAEL 👋

If you're a regular at our Uptown Farmers Market, Andersonville Farmers Market, or Evanston Farmers Market, you probably recognize Michael.

He’s been part of the Hook Point Fisheries team since 2022, and loves it for the continual work of evolving as a small business and a team, relying on each other to get things done with excellence and positivity 🥹

For him, going to the markets every week is all about community and seeing people coming together and sharing the space.

Michael loves how Hook Point represents a direct connection to Alaska, and to bring that to Chicago and other far-flung places in the lower 48 is such a rare and special opportunity for him. He's even had the chance to spend time in Hook Point himself, so he knows the ins and outs of commercial fisheries what it takes to provide wild Alaskan seafood to our customers.

Ok, he probably loves it because he’s Captain Mat’s brother, too 🙂

His favorite Hook Point product? Definitely our Wicked Smoked Salmon Dip with some wheat crackers.
