Hey everyone. Patrick here. It’s with a heavy heart that I write this. Yesterday we learned of the passing of our dear friend and loyal TOB fan, Brad Bennett. As many of you know, Brad was diagnosed with brain cancer in early 2020. He fought it like hell, but was ultimately taken from us too soon.
This photo was taken in early 2018. Brad and I were partaking in our usual dad joke banter when he mentioned to me that he’s never poured a draft beer. I laughed it off because I thought he was joking, but no, he was serious. I then demanded that he get behind the bar and pour himself his next beer (hey, less work for me😁). Of course, he didn’t know where to begin so I walked him through each step. He did okay😜Another half inch of head would’ve helped, but he was thrilled to have finally poured his own beer and I was thrilled to have given him that chance.
I’ll always remember after we had our first son Parker, Brad was very excited for us. About a month later I was talking to him and in the middle of our conversation he pulled out his wallet, looked at a piece of paper, and then put it back in his pocket. I asked him what that was about, and he, ignoring my question, asked me how Parker was doing. I replied, “He’s great. Thanks for asking. What was on that paper?”. He showed it to me, and it simply said PARKER. Apparently, after learning our son’s name, he wrote it on a piece of paper and kept it in his wallet so he wouldn’t forget his name.
So many memories. Hey, who cut an onion?
We’re going to miss you so much here, Brad. Your hugs. Your laugh. Your love for cherry beer. You were a great person, and we’re grateful to have met you. Wherever you are, we know you and Riley🐾 are together watching us with a pint of cherry stout in hand🍻
Rest In Peace, Brad ❤️🍻
