Brooklyns Battle Against Fanconi Anemia

Brooklyns Battle Against Fanconi Anemia Well friends the time has come to let everyone know whats been going on. Everyday she is getting sicker. I can now see it in her eyes and her face.

We are creating this page for close friends and family to be able to know what is happening with our precious baby girl, Brooklyn, and for those prayer warriors that can pray for a positive outcome for what is in our future. This is also for the many FAmily we have worldwide that have been so amazing in helping answer questions and have always been so supportive. I have followed other children as

they have gone through this and I appreciated so much the openness with which they shared their stories and hope to help others in a similar way. Our daughter Brooklyn has Fanconi Anemia (FA) a disease she inherited from her father and I. It is a life threatening blood disorder that often leads to bone marrow failure and cancer. Despite our best efforts of giving her natural foods, growing our own organic veggies and giving her supplements to boost her bone marrow she is now in severe bone marrow failure. Since her bone marrow is not producing blood properly she has become paler, sicker more often and tires much easier. We are devastated and heartbroken, but have faith in our God, Jehovah, that he will sustain us. We believe in the power of prayer and ask for your continued prayers of our little girl.

Emily Mile 2 – Brooklyn Ramirez, 11, CA Brooklyn was diagnosed when a stranger on a cruise ship recognized the signs of FA. Just a few years later, she needed a bone marrow transplant.

If you are able, please help us reach our goal of raising $26,200 for Fanconi anemia research. https://katafoundation.ejoinme.org/104757

Update on Brooklyn: December 14th she will be 7 months post transplant! She is doing amazing! She saw Dr Davies today and she is off all medication except Synthroid to help her grow. She has been approved to return to school after winter break January 11th!!! We are so excited for her since she loves school so much and cannot wait to go back. And of course I'm excited because I won't have to home school! On a side note a huge shout out to all teachers because it is a tremendously difficult job and a special thank you to my mom, sister and brother who are teachers and helped guide me though it!

Joel, Brooklyn and I would also like to express our deep felt gratitude for the many, many prayers and overwhelming amount of toys, cards, letters and support we received during her transplant. We felt such love from our family, congregation, friends and strangers who have prayed for our baby girl. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We made some amazing friends during transplant that we share a lifelong bond with because of enduring the hardship of seeing our kiddos sick and near death. We also were taken in and treated like family by the Avondale Congregation in Cincinnati and given continued support from Rolling Hills Congregation, our home congregation in Murrieta, CA. Thank you to our loving God for our worldwide brotherhood!

We had not posted in awhile out of respect for our friends that have lost children during transplant this year. We are happy Brooklyn is doing well, but our hearts break for our friends and it's hard to be outwardly joyous when they are facing an unimaginable heartache. Please say prayers for those in this situation as well as for those still undergoing transplant and the debilitating after effects.

We continue to put our trust in our Heavenly Father, Jehovah, and await his promise when we will say "...And death is no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away." Revelations 21:4

With love and kindness,

Jen
