Blount County Farmers Market The mission of the Blount County Farmer's Market is to provide quality, quantity, and a variety of products. until 1:00 p.m. or until sold out.

The Farmer's Market is open every Saturday in May (when seasonal produce is available) and transitions in June-October to every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. Fresh Produce, vegetables, honey, eggs, and value-added products are available

Selling privileges at the Blount County Farmers Market are extended to all Blount and adjoining County producers and growers or their agents with

a Current Growers Permit in good standing. For Grower Permit information, contact the Blount County Extension Office at 205-274-2129 or email: [email protected]. Growers permits are issued annually. Rules and Regulations are set by the Blount County Commission and follow the standards set by the Department of Agriculture and Industry-Farmers Market Authority.

📍Grower Permits are issued at the Blount County Extension office at no cost to the grower. They are located at the Blount County Multipurpose Center, 6700 County Road 1, Cleveland, AL 35049.
Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, (Closed for Lunch 12-12:30 pm each day)

📞Please call ahead to ensure someone is available to issue your permit. 205-274-2129

Required Information: Your name, address, phone number, and email address. Please bring your ID and have a list of vegetables you will be growing for the season.

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) application is now open! 🤩
The SFMNP provides eligible seniors with a $50 benefit card to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from certified farmers at farmers markets and farm stands in Alabama. Previous card holders can enter their original card but MUST reapply, along with any new seniors, online at agi.alabama.gov/farmersmarket/ to receive funding. The program is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply now!

SENIOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Senior FMNP- Both criteria must be met in order to receive SFMNP benefits.
Age – person must be 60 years of age or older on the day of issuance.
Income level – to be eligible on the basis of income, recipients’ gross household income must not exceed the following limits:
$2,414.00 monthly……for a household of ——1
$3,262.00 monthly……for a household of ——2
$4,109.00 monthly……for a household of ——3
$4,958.00 monthly……for a household of ——4
$5,805.00 monthly……for a household of ——5
$6,653.00 monthly……for a household of ——6
$7,502.00 monthly……for a household of ——7
$8,349.00 monthly……for a household of ——8
(Household: a group of related or non-related individuals living together as one economic unit. These amounts are at 185% of 2025-2026 Federal Poverty Guidelines.)”

There are various other locations around the county where you can purchase produce.
Blount County Commissioner Chase Moore and the City of Oneonta have opened the property where Hometown Market used to be for farmers to sell produce!
Days of operation: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, starting at 7 am.

The Town of Snead is also starting up a Market on Saturdays, starting June 19th.
