Weber Canyon Designs
1. What do you offer at the market?
I’m the owner of Weber Canyon Designs, where I create handcrafted, personalized laser-engraved products. At the market, I offer a variety of wood and slate engravings, including wildlife and Western-inspired pieces, locally inspired designs, slate coasters, earrings, signs, home décor, and other unique handmade items. I’m always working on new designs, so there’s usually something new to discover at my booth!
2. What inspired you to start your business?
I’ve always loved creating things and working with my hands, and I wanted to turn that creativity into something of my own. I started with a small laser and a lot of ideas, and Weber Canyon Designs grew from there. I especially love creating pieces that have a personal meaning to someone, whether it’s a favorite place, a special memory, a family name, or simply something that reminds them of home.
3. What does being a part of the Cortez Farmers Market mean to you?
Being part of the Cortez Farmers Market means a lot to me because it gives me the opportunity to meet people in our community face-to-face and share something I’ve created with them. I love the local atmosphere and getting to know the other vendors and customers. It’s also incredibly rewarding when someone finds a piece at my booth that really speaks to them or reminds them of a special place or memory.
4. What is your favorite market memory?
One of my favorite things about the market has been seeing people stop at my booth, look through the different designs, and start telling me stories about the places, animals, or memories that the artwork reminds them of. Those conversations are something I didn’t really expect when I started doing the market, and they’ve become one of my favorite parts of it.
5. What do you wish more people knew about you and your products?
I think one of the biggest things I want people to know is that my products are made right here by me, from the design process all the way through engraving and finishing. I’m not just purchasing products and putting my name on them. I spend a lot of time designing and creating each piece, and I’m always trying to make things that feel connected to the Southwest, the outdoors, and the places we love here in Colorado.
I also love custom orders, so if someone has an idea for something they don’t see at my booth, I’m always happy to talk with them about creating something unique.
