Every tree cut down for greed is not just wood removed from the earth. It is a shelter destroyed, a family displaced, a life terrified.
While humans expand cities, roads, and industries, countless animals silently lose the only world they have ever known. Forests are burned. Rivers are polluted. Habitats disappear. And the creatures who once lived peacefully there are forced into fear, hunger, and survival.
Buddhism teaches compassion for all living beings, not just human beings. The earth was never given to us to dominate without care. It was shared with every creature that breathes, feels pain, and longs to live safely.
The saddest part is that animals take only what they need to survive. Humans often destroy far more than they truly need.
One day humanity may realize too late that when we destroy nature, we are slowly destroying ourselves too.
