Foodscaping is one of our favorite ways to blend beauty and function in the garden — creating spaces that are just as stunning as they are productive.

This year we grew several heirloom pepper varieties from seed with foodscaping in mind, including Chinese Five Color, Jigsaw, Murasaki Purple, Sugar Rush Peach, and Datil peppers. These peppers aren’t just delicious — they’re absolutely ornamental with vibrant foliage, dramatic colors, and unique fruit that fit beautifully into flower beds, borders, patio containers, and landscape designs.

From the tie-dye foliage of the Jigsaw pepper to the rainbow display of Chinese Five Color, edible plants can add just as much visual interest as traditional ornamentals while also providing fresh harvests throughout the season.

One of the best things about peppers in Northwest Florida is their ability to thrive through the summer heat when many other plants begin to struggle. They bring long-lasting color, texture, and harvests to the garden all season long.

We currently have these heirloom peppers available in both 4" cups and 1-gallon pots. Stop by and add some edible beauty to your garden this season!

• Fit a standard letter-sized sheet of paper (8.5” x 11”)

The Potting Shed will have a large selection of flowering annuals and
Perennials including lots of Florida native plants. We will also have citrus trees including satsumas, kumquats, honey bells, and grapefruit.
