Maplewood Lane Farms

Maplewood Lane Farms We are a small farm with Nigerian Dwarf goats. We milk daily to make goat milk soap & other products.

I don’t know who started the rumor that snacks were being handed out… but word spread FAST. 😂

Today’s parade included ducks, chickens, guineas, and Tom the turkey, all marching behind me like I was the Pied Piper of poultry.

Around here, personal space disappears the moment someone shakes a treat bucket. 🦆🐔🦃

Farm life: where you’re never alone and always being supervised by a hungry committee.

I thought I was raising turkey poults.

Turns out, I’m just a giant heated recliner. 🦃❤️

Not a bad way to spend an evening on the farm.

Some goats want treats. Petunia wants hugs. ❤️🐐

If you stop moving for more than 30 seconds, Petunia takes it as a personal invitation to climb into your lap, wrap herself around you, and demand cuddles. She may be a goat, but she’s convinced she’s a lap dog.

The best part? Goat hugs are real. Goats form strong bonds with their people and often show affection by leaning on you, nuzzling, and staying close.

Around here, Petunia is the reigning queen of farm snuggles—and we’re not complaining one bit. 🥰

🐢 Farm Fact of the Day: Tortoises Take Their Salad Seriously! 🥗

Our shelled lawnmower, Tom, was enjoying a fresh slice of cucumber when this photo was snapped. While tortoises may look slow and laid-back, they’re actually important herbivores that spend much of their day grazing on grasses, weeds, flowers, and leafy greens.

Fun fact: Cucumbers are a great hydrating treat, especially during hot weather, but they should be offered as a snack—not the main course. A balanced tortoise diet is all about variety and lots of fiber!

Judging by that bite mark, I’d say this cucumber passed the quality control inspection. ✅😂

If you ever wonder what true love looks like, it’s a man being chased across the farm by a herd of goats because they think he has Fig Newtons.

Justin didn’t grow up dreaming about goats, endless farm chores, or being treated like a walking snack dispenser, but he embraces this crazy farm life right alongside me. He supports my dreams as if they were his own, even when that means being mobbed by hungry goats with zero respect for personal space.

I love this man more than words can say… and apparently the goats do too. ❤️🐐😂

Meet Rufus 🐷❤️

This handsome guy is Rufus, my best friend on the farm. He loves belly scratches, snack time, and giving the world’s slobberiest pig kisses. If I’m outside, chances are Rufus isn’t far behind.

Life on the farm is never boring with this sweet boy around! 🐷💕

🌷🦆 Spring Fever Has Hit the Farm! 🦆🌷

Did you know that as the days get longer and temperatures warm up, ducks experience a surge in hormones that can make them a little… extra? Scientists call it breeding season. Around here, we call it Phil being Phil.

Our resident troublemaker has been strutting around like he owns the place, picking fights he can’t win, harassing innocent farm residents, and generally causing chaos wherever he goes.

Phil, buddy, it’s called spring fever—not a permanent personality trait. We’re going to need you to move past this phase and return to being a respectable citizen of the farm before your future starts sounding suspiciously like a French menu item. 🍽️

For now, we’ll blame the hormones and give him a pass… but Phil is officially on notice.

It takes a lot to keep 69 hungry mouths fed! 🐐🐓🦃🦆🐾

Every bag in this truck represents full feed pans, happy animals, and one more week of keeping the farm running. What most people don’t see behind the cute photos is the planning, lifting, hauling, and feeding that happens every single day.

This load is headed to 69 animals who all seem to think mealtime should be right now. 😅

Farming isn’t just sunshine and baby animals—it’s feed runs, hay bales, empty wallets, and full hearts. And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️

How many bags of feed do you think it takes to keep this crew fed each month? 👇

A huge thank you Alex for taking such amazing care of the farm while we were away! From feeding and caring for everyone to even collecting eggs, you made it possible for us to truly relax and enjoy our vacation without worrying about things back home. It means so much knowing our animals and farm were in such great hands. We appreciate you more than you know! 🐐🐓🥚❤️
